Professional Experience

Dr Fred John is a consultant Anatomic and Molecular Pathologist with several years of experience in tissue diagnoses, immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, and cancer research. He is a Fellow of both the West African College of Physicians and National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. He graduated with MBBS from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. He is a Commonwealth fellow and holds a Master of Molecular Pathology and Genomics with Distinction from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London, and has recently submitted his thesis for the award of PhD in Pathology from the same institution. He has published in peer-review journals and presented in many local and international conferences. The incorporation of cell block in fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) resulting in improved diagnostic accuracy of FNAC, is the outcome of his research work on diagnostic utility cell block in FNAC. This is procedure that is now adopted as a standard diagnostic technique in FNAC in some Nigerian health institutions. He is a member of many professional associations including Nigerian Medical Association, College of Nigerian Pathologists, the British and West African Divisions of the International Academy of Pathology and Pathological Society of Great Britain and Ireland.
